A Coppersmith Barbet is observed at a nest cavity carved into a tree trunk. The adult bird emerges with food and positions itself at the entrance to feed the chick inside. The chick reaches out and quickly takes the food item from the adult at the cavity opening. This species commonly nests in self-excavated holes in trees and is found in urban gardens, open woodlands, and forested areas across India. The interaction highlights parental feeding behaviour and nest use. The footage captures close-range activity at the nesting site.
