An adult Coppersmith Barbet returns to its tree cavity nest to feed a hungry chick inside a hollowed tree trunk. The adult bird clings vertically to the rough bark surface while displaying its distinctive green plumage, crimson forehead, yellow eye patches, and thick pale beak. A young barbet chick stretches its head outward from the circular nest entrance and opens its beak widely to receive an insect meal from the parent bird. The footage also captures the adult bird removing a faecal sac from the nest cavity, a common hygiene behaviour used to keep nesting chambers clean. Coppersmith Barbets are known for excavating round nesting holes in dead or decaying wood using their strong chisel-like beaks.
