A Black Kite (Milvus migrans) perched high among the branches of a Silver Oak (Grevillea robusta), also known as the Southern Silky Oak. The fast-growing evergreen tree is in bloom, displaying its distinctive golden-orange, bottlebrush-like flowers. The Black Kite remains alert, frequently turning its head to scan the surrounding landscape while maintaining its elevated perch. The sequence documents the vigilant perching behaviour of this widespread bird of prey within a flowering tree canopy.
