A Globe Skimmer, one of the world's most remarkable dragonflies, resting on a slender green stem. Also known as the Wandering Glider, this species is famous for its extraordinary long-distance migrations, covering thousands of kilometers across continents and oceans. The dragonfly displays a yellowish-orange body, large chestnut-red compound eyes, and four transparent wings intricately patterned with veins. The Globe Skimmer is a powerful aerial hunter, feeding on mosquitoes, flies, and other small insects while in flight. Its broad-based wings and lightweight body make it an exceptionally efficient flyer, enabling it to undertake some of the longest migrations known among insects.
