A Yellow-footed Green Pigeon (Treron phoenicopterus) perched on the branch of a fruit-bearing tree in Wilderness Orchard. This arboreal pigeon is recognized by its olive-green plumage, pale bluish-grey head, and distinctive bright yellow legs and feet. A greyish-lilac shoulder patch and pale mantle band are visible field marks of the species. The bird is positioned among foliage and small fruits, which are an important part of its diet. Yellow-footed Green Pigeons are known for their camouflage, often blending into dense tree canopies. Widely known as the Hariyal, the species is also the state bird of Maharashtra. The video shows the pigeon resting among the branches of its feeding habitat.
