Black Kite (Milvus migrans) observed at Wilderness Orchard in New Delhi, India. Two Black Kites perched on the bare branches of a tree within an urban-natural landscape. Additional scenes show another kite resting on a green leafy tree before taking flight across the surrounding habitat. The birds display the typical dark brown plumage, hooked beak, and broad wings characteristic of this adaptable raptor species. Black Kites are among the most commonly seen birds of prey in Delhi and other Indian cities, where they thrive near open landscapes, forests, water bodies, and urban settlements. Known for their soaring flight and scavenging behaviour, these raptors are frequently observed circling above cities or perched high in trees while scanning their surroundings.
