The Stripe-throated Yuhina (Yuhina gularis) is a small, lively passerine bird commonly found in the Himalayan foothills and northeastern parts of India. When perched on a tree branch, it appears alert and active, often flicking its tail and moving restlessly among leaves. This species is easily recognized by its distinct striped throat, soft brownish-grey plumage, and a slightly crested head. It typically inhabits forested areas, especially oak and mixed broadleaf forests at mid to high elevations. Stripe-throated Yuhinas are highly social birds and are often seen in small flocks. Their calls consist of continuous high-pitched chirps and twittering notes, which blend beautifully with the natural background sounds of the forest.
