Demoiselle cranes (Anthropoides virgo) gathered at Pakshi Chugga Ghar in Khichan village, Phalodi district, Rajasthan, India. The community-managed bird feeding enclosure is known for supporting large numbers of migratory cranes that winter in northwestern India after arriving from breeding areas across Central Asia, including Mongolia. The cranes standing across the open gravel feeding ground while their natural calls fill the surroundings. Traditional stone and brick houses, the bird-feeding facility, and the arid landscape of the Thar Desert form the backdrop to the gathering.long-standing conservation effort carried out by the local community to provide grain for the wintering cranes and preserve this seasonal migration site.
