A Coppersmith Barbet (Psilopogon haemacephalus) at the entrance of a nest cavity excavated in wood. The bird holds a beakful of chewed wood pulp and debris before removing it from the hollow. Its crimson forehead and throat markings, yellow facial patches, and olive-green plumage are visible in close-up. Coppersmith Barbets excavate nest cavities in soft or dead wood, repeatedly clearing material as they prepare the cavity. The footage captures this nest-maintenance behaviour in close detail.
