Fairly common and spectacular with its multiple shades of green is the Rose-ringed Parakeet (Psittacula krameri). Seated at the edge of a tree hollow at our wildfilmsindia forest reserve in Delhi, this female bird seems to be either investigating a fresh tree hole or hiding young ones inside the safety of the tree hollow. Notice the red upper mandible, the red ring around its eyes as the camera zoom in on the smaller, finer details of the body and plumage.
