A Himalayan Woodpecker (Dendrocopos himalayensis) clinging vertically to a moss-covered tree branch. The bird uses its strong bill to repeatedly peck at the tree's surface while searching for insects and larvae beneath the bark. As the sequence continues, the woodpecker gradually moves upward along the branch toward the top of the tree. Throughout the climb, it continues pecking and probing the bark in a characteristic foraging pattern. The video documents natural feeding behaviour of a Himalayan Woodpecker in a forest habitat.
