Ever wondered how the Purple Sunbird collects nectar? 0:30 A male Purple Sunbird sticks its curved and pointed beak inside a Hamelia patens flower and drinks nectar. Notice the sexual dimorphism in males and females during the breeding season. The female is duller and of a different colour as compared to the male. The male with its mixture of iridescent colours flaps its wings in slow motion showing off its rich colour in the backdrop of the Fire Bush shrub.
