A Black-rumped Flameback (Dinopium benghalense), also known as the Lesser Goldenback Woodpecker, perched on a thick tree branch. The bird spends time preening its feathers, carefully grooming and arranging its plumage with its bill. Between bouts of preening, it pauses to remain alert and watchful, turning its head to scan the surrounding area. Its striking golden back, contrasting black markings, and strong chisel-shaped bill are clearly visible while it maintains a stable perch.
