The nesting behaviour of a Red-wattled Lapwing (Vanellus indicus) in its natural habitat. The adult bird stands alert on a grassy patch, frequently scanning the surroundings while remaining close to its nesting site. The sequence then reveals the ground nest, where four heavily speckled eggs lie among dry leaves, twigs, and soil. Their mottled pattern provides excellent camouflage against the forest floor. Throughout the footage, the lapwing remains vigilant, occasionally changing its position before returning to guard the nest. The video highlights the species' characteristic ground-nesting strategy and attentive parental behaviour during the incubation period.
