Demoiselle Cranes (Anthropoides virgo), locally known as Kurja, at the Pakshi Chugga Ghar bird-feeding enclosure in Khichan village, Phalodi district, Rajasthan, India. Hundreds of migratory cranes gather on the sandy feeding ground within the protected community-managed enclosure during their seasonal winter migration. Traditional village buildings and stone boundary walls surround the feeding area in the arid landscape of the Thar Desert region. One of India's most well-known seasonal gatherings of migratory Demoiselle Cranes.
