Demoiselle Cranes (Anthropoides virgo), locally known as Kurja, gathered at the famous Pakshi Chugga Ghar in Khichan village, near Phalodi in Rajasthan, India. Every winter, these migratory birds arrive from Central Asia and surrounding regions, making Khichan one of the country's most renowned bird conservation sites. The cranes densely packed inside the community-managed feeding enclosure, where volunteers provide grain daily as part of a long-standing conservation initiative.
