A White-capped Redstart (Phoenicurus leucocephalus), also known as the White-capped Water Redstart, is perched on a weathered wooden stump. The bird remains alert, repeatedly looking around and monitoring its surroundings while maintaining an upright posture. Its characteristic white cap, dark body, and contrasting plumage are visible against the natural background. The bird repeatedly moves its long tail up and down, a characteristic tail-flicking behaviour observed while perched. It pauses between movements before turning its head to survey the surrounding area. The footage captures the bird's perching, alert posture, and repeated tail movement in its natural Himalayan habitat.
