What perfect synchrony of movement! The mother Coppersmith twitches her neck to the beat of her call! A Coppersmith Barbet (Psilopogon haemacephalus) is filmed displaying a rare behaviour at Wilderness Orchard in Delhi. An individual is seen with a fig in its beak and perching on a barren branch and calling for either a partner to mate or the young one. Is this the behaviour of ritual feeding while breeding? Notice the metronomic calls. The bird is filmed flying back towards the nest where a head of a chick pops out and goes back inside after taking the mouthful of fig.
