An adult male Rose-ringed Parakeet (Psittacula krameri) perched on a tree branch in Wilderness Orchard, New Delhi, India. The bird is recognized by its bright green plumage, long tapered tail, and distinctive red hooked bill. A black-and-pink neck ring, visible around the collar, confirms the individual as an adult male. Rose-ringed Parakeets are highly adaptable birds commonly found in forests, orchards, parks, and urban green spaces across the Indian subcontinent. The parakeet appears to be preening, a maintenance behavior that helps keep feathers clean and in good condition. The video shows the bird resting and grooming within its tree-canopy habitat.
