A Coromandel Marsh Dart (Ceriagrion coromandelianum) rests gracefully on a fresh green leaf, its slender body glowing with soft yellow-green tones. The damselfly keeps its tail delicately bent and straightened, adjusting its posture with every tiny breeze. In another glimpse, it shifts to a thin green branch, balancing lightly as if floating in still air. Known for their calm and gentle nature, these damselflies spend much of their time near marshes, ponds, slow-moving streams, and wetland vegetation. They are peaceful predators, feeding on small insects and playing a crucial role in controlling mosquito populations.
