An Indian Pond Heron (Ardeola grayii) is seen standing motionless in shallow, still water as light rain falls around it. The bird maintains a patient posture, typical of its hunting style, waiting to catch small aquatic prey. Its muted brown and white plumage blends well with the wet surroundings.
