The Indian pond heron (Ardeola grayii) and the Rose-ringed parakeet (Psittacula krameri). Both species are commonly found across the Indian subcontinent and have adapted well to environments near human habitation. Bird Information 1- Bird: Indian Pond Heron Description: This small, stout heron appears an earthy brown when at rest, which provides excellent camouflage. It has a long neck and legs, typical of herons. Habitat & Diet: They are widespread and common near small water bodies like ponds and wetlands, where they primarily forage for prey. 2-Bird: Rose-ringed Parakeet Description: This is a bright, yellowish-green medium-sized parrot, often a familiar sight in Indian cities and countryside. Males have a distinctive rose and black neck ring, while females have a pale grey or no ring.
