Kanwar Yatra is one of the largest annual Hindu pilgrimages in North India, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Every year during the holy month of Shravan, millions of devotees known as Kanwar Yatris travel on foot to sacred places such as Haridwar, Gaumukh, and Gangotri to collect the Ganga Jal. The water is carried in decorated Kanwars and offered at Shiva temples, especially the Shiva lingam at their hometown or nearest shrine. The atmosphere is filled with devotional chants, saffron-clad pilgrims, and a vibrant spiritual energy. In Haridwar, long lines of Kanwar Yatris can be seen walking along the roadside, symbolizing devotion, discipline, and faith.
