Himalayan Woodpecker is observed perched near the top of a dried tree in the Himalayan region. The bird repeatedly strikes the tree trunk with its beak, a behavior known as drumming. Woodpeckers use drumming for communication, territorial displays, and locating insects beneath the bark. The species is native to the forested areas of the Himalayas and is recognized by its contrasting black-and-white plumage. The elevated perch provides a strategic position for both foraging and signaling. The video documents a characteristic behavior of this Himalayan woodpecker in its natural environment.
