The Demoiselle Crane is seen gracefully feeding in the serene landscapes of Kashmir. This elegant migratory bird, known for its slender build, black neck, and distinctive white ear tufts, moves calmly across open fields while searching for food. During winter migration, Kashmir’s agricultural lands and wetlands provide ideal feeding grounds. In the video, the crane walks slowly and deliberately, pecking at grains and seeds scattered across the ground. Its diet mainly consists of cereal grains, grass shoots, and small insects, making farmlands an attractive habitat during migration. Often seen in small flocks, these cranes maintain alert body posture while feeding, ensuring safety from potential threats.
