A female sunbird building a small hanging pouch nest woven among green leaves. The olive-yellow bird clings to the side of the nest and works plant material into the structure with her slender, curved bill. She peers from the nest opening, carrying pale shredded fibres in her bill. The nest is made from dry grass, plant fibres, pieces of bark and apparent scraps of paper or plastic woven into a hanging cup. Female sunbirds generally carry out most of the nest-building work, and the footage provides a close view of the construction process.
