Two Himalayan woodpecker species in their natural forest habitat: the Brown-fronted Woodpecker (Dendrocoptes auriceps) and the Crimson-breasted Woodpecker (Dryobates cathpharius), also known as the Crimson-naped Woodpecker. The birds climb tree trunks and branches using their strong feet and stiff tail feathers for support while inspecting bark for insects. They pause frequently to look around before continuing to forage among the trees, documenting their natural feeding and vigilance behaviour in the Himalayan woodland.
