Collared Pygmy Owlet on an Quercus oak tree in Landour, Uttarakhand. Glaucidium brodiei resides across the Himalaya and north-east India. it is really tiny and barred heavily. It has a spotted crown, with streaking on the flanks and an owl-faced pattern on the upper mantle (visible as eyes behind the head). Found in temperature and sub-tropical forests, for the most part.
