A striking Rufous Treepie (Dendrocitta vagabunda) is perched on a tree branch in New Delhi. The bird is easily identified by its rusty-brown upperparts, dull orange underparts, and a contrasting sooty black head and neck. Its long tail and alert posture add to its distinctive appearance. Belonging to the crow family (Corvidae), the Rufous Treepie is known for its intelligence, curiosity, and adaptability. It is commonly found in a variety of habitats, including open scrublands, agricultural fields, forests, and urban gardens across the Indian subcontinent.
