A Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) is shown perched on the roof of a red-covered market stall at Dappermarkt on Dapperplein in Amsterdam-Oost, Netherlands. The bird has a long grey body, pale neck, black crown and crest, yellow eye, long pointed orange-yellow bill, and long dark legs, and it remains standing on the stall roof while turning its head and looking around. Behind the bird is a light-blue residential building with dark-blue window frames and a leafless tree, while the market stall below is identified as Vishandel De Graaf–Roos & Zn., a fish vendor from Spakenburg. Then shows the wider Dappermarkt with pedestrians, clothing racks, food and fish stalls, market canopies, bicycles, surrounding multi-storey buildings, and a clear blue sky.
