One of the busiest railway stations in the Netherlands, Centraal Station is the northern terminus of the Amsterdam Metro, and is also served by a number of tram, ferry and bus routes, as well as local and international trains. The station was designed by Dutch architect Pierre Cuypers and opened way back in 1889. Featuring Gothic, Renaissance Revival architecture, it is the most visited Rijksmonument, or national heritage site, in the Netherlands!
