What a lovely Woodpecker call from our deep Oak forests at Motidhar Pari Tibba Estate around Mussoorie, where the Lesser Scaly-bellied Woodpecker loudly vocalizes and owns the spring-time forests. The Katphora trills from an Oak tree, nicely concealed in the foliage, save for its bright scarlet-red crown. See the lower mandible vibrate as it calls, and is quickly answered by the Great Hill or Himalayan Barbet. Both are in nesting mode.
