A Yellow-legged Gull is seen standing on a sandy shore near a coastal water body. This gull is identified by its clean white head and underparts, contrasted with a medium-grey back and wings. Its bright yellow bill, marked with a distinct red spot on the lower mandible, along with its long yellow legs, are key identification features. The bird also shows black wingtips with small white “mirrors,” a characteristic typical of many gull species. It is most commonly found along the Mediterranean and Black Sea coasts, as well as parts of Europe and North Africa. In regions like the Middle East, including the UAE, it is considered a relatively rare visitor compared to similar gull species such as Caspian or Steppe Gulls.
