Slender-billed Gull (Chroicocephalus genei) swimming and flying over coastal wetland waters in the United Arab Emirates. Multiple Slender-billed Gulls floating on calm water while others glide low above the surface in a coastal lagoon or estuarine habitat typical of the Arabian Gulf region. The species is known for its slender bill, elongated forehead profile, and graceful flight behaviour compared to other gulls. The surrounding environment includes open water and a low sandy shoreline with sparse vegetation, reflecting the shallow coastal wetlands and mudflat ecosystems commonly found in the UAE. These habitats serve as important feeding and resting grounds for migratory and resident waterbird species across the Middle East.
