A lively wetland scene shows many Black-necked Stilts (Himantopus himantopus) standing gracefully in shallow water alongside a large flock of migratory seagulls. The stilts, easily recognised by their slender black-and-white bodies and long pink legs, wade delicately through the water while searching for small aquatic insects and crustaceans. Their sharp, needle-like bills dip occasionally below the surface as they forage. Nearby, the flock of seagulls—likely species such as the Brown-headed Gull (Chroicocephalus brunnicephalus) or Black-headed Gull (Chroicocephalus ridibundus)—gathers in clusters, floating and calling out across the water.
