This serene wetland footage captures a flock of Black-winged Stilts (Himantopus himantopus) gathered along the edge of a shallow pond. Several birds are seen delicately perched on the muddy margins, partially submerged in the water, their long pink legs contrasting beautifully against the reflective surface of the pond. The calm atmosphere is punctuated when one stilt steps into the water and begins bathing, dipping and splashing gently before shaking off droplets. Following this, many individuals in the flock engage in preening behavior, carefully grooming their feathers with their beaks—an essential activity that helps maintain feather condition and waterproofing.
