See the shy sex of the Keol species. Even the male Koel cuckoo is more often seen streaking across the sky, with a pair of crows in hot pursuit, but the female is hardly ever seen, and when it is seen, it is often mistaken for a baaz or a Shikra or other raptor! Notice the ruby red eye! While gorging on the berry of a karaunda shrub, the Koel nearly topples over from its twig perch! Perching on an Indian Amla tree, a female Asian Koel is filmed eating what looks like a bulbous part of a flower. The bird struggles to balance while trying to down its food. Summer is approaching and the bird is also feeling the heat.
