Farm workers use bamboo poles to pick Dussehri mangoes at an orchard in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Dussheri is a variety of mango grown in different parts of North India. In 18th century, the Dussheri mango first appeared in the gardens of Nawab of Lucknow. since then number of plants have been produced and planted throughout India. People from village Dussher near Kakori, Uttar Pradesh believe that they have the mother plant of Dussheri mango which gave this variety of mango same name. Uttar Pradesh is the largest producer of Dasheri mango in the world.
