Two Spotted Forktails (Enicurus maculatus) are seen actively searching for food along a clear forest stream in the Himalayan region. With their striking black-and-white plumage and long forked tails, they move swiftly over wet rocks and shallow flowing water. The birds carefully flip and clear small pebbles, scanning beneath them for aquatic insects and tiny invertebrates hidden under the stones. Their quick movements and alert posture reflect their specialised feeding behaviour in fast-moving mountain streams. Surrounded by dense Himalayan forest and the soothing sound of flowing water, this natural scene beautifully captures the foraging habits of Enicurus maculatus in its pristine habitat.
