A female Indian Peafowl, commonly known as a peahen, moving swiftly through the grasslands and vegetation. Unlike the brilliantly colored male peacock, the peahen's earthy brown and grey plumage blends seamlessly into its surroundings, providing effective camouflage from predators. The bird can be seen alternating between a brisk walk and a quick run as it navigates the landscape. Such alert and energetic behavior helps peahens search for seeds, insects, and other food while remaining vigilant to potential threats. Their ability to move rapidly through dense vegetation is an important survival adaptation, especially during the nesting season when protecting eggs and chicks is critical.
