Like a painted artwork, the mostly rust-coloured Striated Laughing Thrush has the most detailed plumage you ever saw in any bird, surely, what with those delicate white streaks! What a handsome Himalayan bird! A shy and retiring bird of thick shrubbery, the Striated Laughing Thrush is a not often seen mountain babbler like bird with beautiful streaks and striations on its neck, cheeks and chest. Seen eating berries on a winter time shrub, the Babbler looks least perturbed at being filmed, even as snow melts all around and the distant sound of traffic wafts in the mountain air, at the wildfilmsindia wildlife sanctuary in Uttarakhand.
