The Striated Laughing Thrush is a shy fruit-eating thrush with lovely brown plumage and white stripes. It likes to remain concealed in shrubbery and is ever watchful of its surroundings. We never really noticed the blue and rust outer wing feathers in this bird before! What is the second smaller bird in this video? It appears to be a Scaly-breasted Wren Warbler which is a regional migrant. The Striated Laughingthrush is a bird species in the Leiothrichidae family. In the proposed rearrangement of the laughingthrushes, it is placed in the monotypic genus Grammatoptila, as G. striata. It is found in the northern temperate regions of the Indian subcontinent and ranges across Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Tibet and Nepal.
