An Indian Palm Squirrel (Funambulus palmarum), also known as the Three-striped Palm Squirrel, actively exploring its surroundings in Wilderness Orchard, New Delhi. This small, agile rodent is instantly recognizable by the three distinctive pale stripes running along its grey-brown back from head to tail. Well adapted to life in trees and gardens, the squirrel uses its sharp claws and excellent balance to move effortlessly through branches while searching for food. Indian Palm Squirrels are active during the day and feed on a variety of foods, including fruits, seeds, nuts, flowers, and insects.
