At Wilderness Orchard shows an Indian palm squirrel (Funambulus palmarum) positioned inside a large fibrous nest structure. The squirrel is later seen perched on a tree branch while actively scanning its surroundings. In another moment, the animal briefly holds and grooms its tail, a common maintenance behaviour observed in squirrels. Indian palm squirrels are small diurnal rodents recognized by their striped backs, bushy tails, and agile climbing abilities. They are commonly found in gardens, orchards, parks, and wooded urban environments across India.
