An Indian Palm Squirrel moving across the branches of a Red Silk-Cotton Tree in Wilderness Orchard, New Delhi. The squirrel, also known as a striped palm squirrel, is seen navigating the flowering branches while foraging. The Red Silk-Cotton tree, locally called the Semal tree, produces large red blossoms during the spring season before new leaves emerge. These flowers attract nectar-feeding wildlife including insects, birds, and small mammals. The squirrel appears to be feeding on buds or nectar from the Semal blooms while moving between branches. The video documents urban wildlife interaction with seasonal flowering trees in Delhi.
