Mr. Himraj Dang introduces Mr. B.P. Singh: Mr. B.P. Singh and our father were in St. Stephens College just joined in the first year of college and they go off in 1953 to climb Bandarpunch. This book is a collection of the mountain writings of the late Hari Dang (1935-2016). This compilation is based on his book-length manuscript, written in the 60s, as “The Himalayan Vision,” but never published. Covered in this are his first visits, while at college, to Bandarpunch (1953, 1955), an adventure around Chiring We in Kumaon (1956), two expeditions to the Nanda Devi sanctuary (1960, 1961), his epic story of being benighted at the highest camp as part of the second Indian expedition to climb Everest (1962), and the last of the three expeditions to Jaonli in Garhwal with school boys (1966).
