The Doon School is located in Northern Uttar Pradesh. The school is situated in the Doon valley, which rises in the Himalayan foothills, so it is perhaps hardly surprising that the school has been involved in mountaineering since its foundation in 1935. Halfway through each term, the boys take a one-week trip, often through the Siwalik Hills or Himalayas.
