Asian Koels are hard to notice due to their preference to thick foliage and calls only during the mating season. The North Indian summer is here at our Wilderness Orchard and these male Asian Koels are also feeling it. Sitting under a shaded branch, the birds are filmed with wide open beaks which they use to dissipate and bring down their body temperature. Notice the wider beak when the bird is panting faster.
