An Indian Rat Snake (Ptyas mucosa), also known as a Dhaman, climbs into a hollow section of a weathered tree while searching for food. A dead newborn parakeet chick is stuck inside the cavity, with part of its body protruding from the hollow. The snake repeatedly attempts and struggles to pull the chick from the nesthole but is unable to take it in despite several efforts. It eventually leaves the chick and moves away through the hollow tree trunk. Crows mob the snake from the tree while it struggles to swallow the chick.
