This Sleepy Owl - a Collared Scops Owl chick grimaces in the daylight, as it looks terribly sleepy and cute in the daylight. It is also vibrating its throat in a strange fashion. Help us interpret this behaviour in the hot summer sun. Perhaps it is thirsty? The chick was born in a nest-hole at the Wilderness Orchard in Delhi - a traditional breeding ground for this lovely forest own in the city of Delhi... Lots of mama - baby scratching going on - do they have avian fleas? It's baby's first day out from the comforting cocoon of its nest-hole in a tree-trunk and the loud sounds of the Peafowl and Magpie Robin are clearly alien to it, even as it lifts its claw and scratches lower down its foot! Mama ullu sits right behind, in case you did not notice. The ulla ka pattha can actually open one
